Photomontage

We practised making our own Photomontage inspired by Hannah

My weekly reflection - Week 2

This week I felt affirmed in my unique identity when:
I felt affirmed in my unique identity when my friends didn't find it weird when I was acting like my crazy self and just laughed with me.

I always feel comfortable being myself in front of my friends because they accept me for who I am and I accept them for who they are. We always have fun and just act weird and crazy sometimes but that just makes our friendship stronger since we don't judge each other.

My Weekly Reflection - Week 1

This is my week 1 reflection and I will be doing this every week.

This week I felt a sense of belonging when:
I felt a sense of belonging when my friends listened to me when I talked about my problems.

I've been having problems expressing my feelings lately, I've been having trouble sleeping, always worrying and being anxious and I've just felt really paranoid and scared. I've been having a lot of problems with my mental health and it keeps getting worse because I don't have anyone to talk about it at home, I also don't like bothering people with my problems so I tend to keep everything to myself but I know my friends want to help me and I know that they are willing to help whatever my problem is, so I really did feel a sense of belonging this week because of them.

White Bood Cells

White Blood Cells only estimate for 1% of our blood but they generate a tremendous influence on our immune system. White Blood Cells are also named leukocytes, they help with getting rid of bacteria and they defend us against microorganisms. White blood cells are always at conflict against infections, bacteria, and other foreign diseases that can be an immense threat to your health.

You can think of White Blood Cells as your immunisation cells because they enhance our immunity the more they are presented to new foreign viruses. While circulating throughout your body, white blood cells can always encounter viruses and bacterias and they confront it immediately and if a particular region of your body is in distress, white blood cells will hurry in to help defeat the threatening virus.

White blood cells are produced in your bone marrow, and because some white blood cells have a life span of 1-3 days, your bone marrow is continuously making them. There are 5 various types of white blood cells. Monocytes are White blood cells that have a greater lifespan than others and they also assist when fighting off bacteria, Lymphocytes are the once that generate antibodies against bacteria, viruses and other potentially lethal diseases, Neutrophils remove and absorb bacteria and they are the most numerous type of white blood cells when infection strikes, Basophils sound an alarm when infectious agents or viruses penetrate your blood, and Eosinophils eliminate parasites and cancer cells and they also help with allergic responses.

Workshop 3: Follow up task

The Real World:

The lighting in the real world was gloomy, dull, boring, and quite lifeless. The real world isn't really a place you want to be in, the lighting and colours used in the scenes are quite sad and cold and it definitely looks quite uncomfortable because the house looks run down and old.

The colours in the real world have a grey colour palette and it makes the place look cold instead of warm. The real world doesn't really seem like a very inviting and safe place to be in. The directors probably did this to show how much The real world and the other world contrast each other based on lighting and colour itself.

The Other World (Good):

The lighting in the other world is really warm and inviting, it really does contrast from the grey and gloomy real world. The lighting wasn't bright and still had parts that were in shadows. Everything did look bright and beautiful and it definitely is a place someone wants to be in. Compared to the house in the real world, the house in the other world looks new and welcoming.

The colour palette of the other world was warm and it wasn't really bright because there was still some spaces that were dark and shadowy, but despite having such a dark and slightly creepy appearance, the other colours made everything look warm, bright and welcoming.

The Other World (Bad):

The lighting in the other world when the other mother finally revealed true self to Coraline had such a creepy atmosphere and the lighting made it even scarier. The light had a green tone but it was dark as well, this just made the scene look like it came out of a horror movie. Although the other mother was wearing something that was all black, she still stood out in the green light.

The colours that were used had a purple and orange tone which made the room look quite warm but still scary. The colours that were used made it look like the whole place was unsafe because everything was dark but still was full of colour but it definitely looked like a place no one would want to be in. This created such a huge contrast from the innocent look of the other world where the other mother still didn't reveal her true self to Coraline.
