Acrylic Portrait Painting | Passion Project

For the last few weeks, we have been creating and finishing the projects that we have chosen to create for our passion projects. Our teachers have given us choices on what we wanted to do, they have told us to choose what we are passionate about or are interested in doing. I chose to do Visual Art because I am quite interested in painting and other forms of art. This slide shows and explained what I did for my passion project.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching your idea and design progress each period. From your original pencil sketch to you meticulously mixing your paints to create the tone you desired. The idea of the red fabric ribbon to the final piece where you painted the ribbon. The painting made me curious to the story behind the ribbon and what it represents. My wananga class had a discussion yesterday about the meaning and what message does it tell its audience. Interestingly, we all had a slightly different messages which created more discussion and thought. Keep up you love for painting.

I loved this painting.. I agree with Whāea Chris's comment, there are so many different possible interpretations. Your work asks the question - what is the purpose of art? Your work achieves a critical purpose.. it makes the viewer think. What is the purpose of the artist? What is the artist trying to say? etc
    Great work, thanks for sharing
