Baking - Sugar Cookies with Cinnamon icing

This is a really simple and easy recipe but despite it's simplicity its still very delicious. I like making sugar cookies because of how quick you can make it, I also like making them when we don't have any sweets or desserts because I can make them fast.

Ingredients


1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 175 °C
  • . Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat.
  • Cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add egg and mix until well-combined.
  • Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until well-combined. Stir in vanilla.
  • Scoop cookie dough by the tablespoon full and roll into a ball.
  •  Place cookie dough onto baking sheet, spacing about 1 1/2-inches to 2 inches apart. Lightly press each cookie down. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes

For the Cinnamon Icing you just need to mix 1 cup of powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons of Cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of milk.

    Another delicious-looking recipe, Aili. While the cookies look a bit crumbly it looks like the icing must hold it all together. It looks very sweet, but I bet it tastes great with a cup of strong coffee!
